Petroseal
PetroGrip SBS
PetroGrip SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) torch applied membrane offers superior flexibility, elongation, and crack-bridging compared to APP—preferred for basements, podiums, split slabs, and structures with thermal movement. Manufactured in-house by Petroseal in 3mm and 4mm with plain, aluminum, or granular surfacing options.
Key features
- — SBS modifier for flexibility and structural movement accommodation
- — Thicknesses: 3mm, 4mm
- — Surfacing: Plain, Aluminum Layer, Granular Layer
- — Torch-welded side and end laps
- — Manufactured in-house by Petroseal Enterprises
Applications
- Basements, rafts, and retaining walls (plain SBS)
- Podiums and split slabs with movement joints
- Exposed roofs where SBS build-up is specified (aluminum/granular)
- Multi-ply systems with APP cap sheet above SBS base ply

SURFACING_GUIDE
- Plain: Roof on slab, beds, basements, retaining walls—most common for below-grade and protected layers.
- Aluminum Layer: Exposed applications requiring flexibility plus UV-facing surfacing.
- Granular Layer: Traffic zones and wear surfaces; occasional use in basements and beds.
