Waterproofing Systems
How Petroseal waterproofs specific conditions — system build-ups linked to products, applications, projects and TDS.
- Bitumen Membrane Waterproofing System
Bitumen membrane systems use prefabricated APP or SBS modified sheets torch-welded at laps to form a continuous waterproof barrier. Petroseal manufactures PetroGrip APP and SBS membranes in Pakistan and specifies them by exposure: APP for heat/UV-exposed roofs, SBS for flexible below-grade and movement-prone detailing.
- SBS Waterproofing System
SBS waterproofing systems use styrene-butadiene-styrene modified bitumen membranes for elasticity and low-temperature flexibility. PetroGrip SBS (typically 3 mm polyester-reinforced, torch-applied) is used on basements, podiums, and structures where movement accommodation matters.
- APP Waterproofing System
APP waterproofing systems use atactic-polypropylene modified bitumen membranes with high heat resistance for exposed and protected roofs. PetroGrip APP is manufactured with polyester (and composite polyester-fiberglass grades) in multiple thicknesses and surfacings for Pakistan roof conditions.
- Double-Layer SBS Basement System
A double-layer SBS basement system installs two plies of SBS-modified bitumen membrane to provide redundancy under hydrostatic risk. Continuity at the raft, walls, and joints is mandatory. Petroseal uses PetroGrip SBS within designs that call for multi-layer below-grade protection.
- Polyurethane Waterproofing System
Polyurethane waterproofing systems apply liquid coatings that cure into seamless membranes—useful on complex geometry, detailing-heavy roofs, and selected wet areas. Petroseal supplies polyurethane coatings with primer and thickness guidance from the product data. Weather windows and skilled application are required.
- Polyurea Waterproofing System
Polyurea waterproofing systems use rapidly curing two-component pure polyurea (PETROUREA 300–800 family) sprayed with plural equipment to form seamless, abrasion-resistant coatings. Applications include industrial containment, selected tank linings, and specialty waterproofing where the designer specifies polyurea. Chemical media and immersion limits must be confirmed per project.
- Swimming Pool Waterproofing System
Swimming pool waterproofing systems combine a continuous shell barrier with detailing at lights, inlets, floor-wall junctions, and movement joints. Petroseal supports cementitious under-tile systems and polyurea options where specified. Flood testing before finishes is recommended when required by the designer.
- Cementitious Waterproofing System
Cementitious waterproofing systems use polymer-modified cementitious coatings bonded to concrete for positive or negative-side applications as designed. Petroseal’s TERACOO Weather Coat GP is used where a cementitious slurry/coating system is specified for wet areas and selected structures.
- Self-Adhesive Membrane System
Self-adhesive membrane systems use SBS-modified bitumen sheets with release film for cold application on primed substrates. PetroSelfGrip (Elastogrip PL-150 / PL-200 grades) suits bathrooms, terraces, and confined detailing where torch work is restricted.
